The Energy Innovation Agency (the Agency) is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with UrbanVolt, to provide businesses across Greater Manchester with the opportunity to benefit from solar energy generation without incurring the upfront costs for installation and deployment.

UrbanVolt specialises in enabling businesses to access the latest solar energy solutions through an innovative business model, Solar Energy-As-A-Service.

Through this approach, UrbanVolt looks after the cost, design, installation, and maintenance of the solar panels while the business only pays for the energy they use from the solar solution.

In addition, the energy is provided on a fixed cost per kWh basis guaranteed over an extended period, typically around 25 years, at a rate which is generally around 40% lower than other electricity providers. As a result, the business benefits from reduced energy bills, whilst the fixed fee makes budgeting for energy costs much easier.

This innovative delivery model helps to remove one of the main challenges businesses face when considering a move to solar energy generation, the capex cost, and supports the Agency in driving forward with its key goal of accelerating the energy transition towards a carbon-neutral economy in the Greater Manchester city-region by increasing the deployment of innovative energy solutions.

Our partnership with the Energy Innovation Agency is a crucial step in UrbanVolt’s mission to bring clean energy solutions to businesses in Greater Manchester (GM) and the rest of the UK. This collaboration aligns with our broader goal of supporting the transition to a greener future, while empowering companies to adopt solar technology without upfront costs, benefitting both the planet and the economy.

Mary Gray, Marketing Director of UrbanVolt

We are thrilled to partner with UrbanVolt, which enables the Agency to help more Greater Manchester (GM) businesses and other organisations benefit from more innovative, cheaper, cleaner electricity, supporting the energy transition to a low-carbon economy across Greater Manchester (GM).
